"There’s Something Weird about Jay Lynch," a short film by John Kinhart about Jay Lynch/Roxy Funnies. I, and my Jay Lynch t shirt, make an unplanned guest appearance.

I did this “cover” of a James Thurber gag for “THE CARTOON CARNIVAL: A Celebration of the Humor of James Thurber and the Cartoonists of Today” in conjunction with the Thurber House and Sunday Comix at Wild Goose Creative up this month in scenic Columbus, Ohio. I tweaked the image to Seth Brundle up the Thurber/Doc approach to mark making and I changed the wife’s name to Jones as an homage to Porter Wagoner's song “The First Mrs. Jones.” Thanks to Katie at Thurber House and cartoonist Max Ink for including me in this celebration of all things Thurber!

A custom sketch of Charlie Bowman I did for Kurt Hoss of Charlie Bowman as part of his Despair Vol. 2 pre order fulfillment.  Kurt has eastern TN roots, and left it up to me decide who to pick for his request simply of drawing an “Appalachian musician.”  I couldn’t think of anyone more appropriate than Bowman, attributed with writing the classic fiddle tune, “East Tennessee Blues.”

Two of my favorites from last weekend’s session.  Wet plate collodion photography of yours unruly by Nadezda Nikolova.

I drew this bit of self indulgent bizness for MUTANT #5 from Atomic Books, which was released for Free Comic Book Day earlier this month.

I executed this stand alone drawing at the suggestion of Ashley S. Kolka, meditating on the subject of Ménière’s Disease, to round out a trinity of drawings I covertly collaborated upon with her input for three drawings in three years for an annual group show at the MacRotsie Art Center in Grand Rapids, MN.
To see last year’s drawing go here:

Here’s a sneaky peek at one of the pages I did for a forthcoming tribute book to the band Celtic Frost, edited by Mark Rudolph.  If you got metal in yer blood, I advise you as your attorney to keep at least one eye out for this collection to be.

I kicked out this jam today for my buddy, artist R Clint Colburn.  For past context check out the decidedly NSFW link following this grouping of sentences you now find yourself reading. For future context, stay tuned to this bat channel.
